Seniors Universities

It’s more crucial now than ever to know how to generate active, successful, positive, healthy models of ageing and of solidarity between generations. There is a need for investment in new co-education projects involving adults and young people, university students and those who attend university because they have an interest in learning along their life (lifelong) and from life circumstances (lifewide). The main target of the Force Task 2.8: Seniors’ Universities was to face Ageing as a social and cultural issue.

Activity 2.8, “Seniors’ University”, had a three-fold objective:

  • To collect best practices from the Arqus partner universities in activities targeting senior students
  • To establish shared guidelines; and to explore opportunities for joint programmes, both on- and off-line.
  • The organisation of an annual short-term mobility involving senior students from all Arqus partner universities.
