26 Sep 2025Today, the University of Padua hosts the welcome session for the second cohort of the Master in International Cybersecurity and Cyberintelligence (MICAC), marking a significant milestone in the programme’s development. For the first time, the academic year begins with students enrolled in both the first and second years of the programme, a key achievement for this pioneering joint degree.
This year’s new students bring together a wide range of academic backgrounds and cultural perspectives. Among them are participants from both European countries and regions outside the consortium, such as Palestine, Iran, Costa Rica, and North Macedonia, reflecting MICAC’s growing global reach and its appeal to talented individuals committed to addressing today’s cybersecurity challenges.
The MICAC programme follows a unique mobility structure, with students studying across four leading European universities: the University of Padua (Italy), Vilnius University (Lithuania), the University of Granada (Spain), and the University of Minho (Portugal).
The initiative receives funding support from the Cyberactioning project within the Digital Europe Programme, which promotes advanced digital education and skills development across Europe. This support enables the programme to offer both academic excellence and practical training opportunities through internships and applied research.
As part of the Arqus European University Alliance, MICAC continues to demonstrate the power of strategic cooperation in delivering high-quality, transnational education. The start of this new academic year highlights the shared commitment of partner institutions to nurturing the next generation of cybersecurity professionals in Europe and beyond.
