Empowering synergies between research and education: Arqus at the Coimbra Group Annual Conference 2024 in Turku

06 Jun 2024The Arqus Alliance is participating today in the Coimbra Group Annual Conference and General Assembly, hosted by the University of Turku and Åbo Akademi University from 4th to 7th June 2024 in Turku, Finland. The theme for this year’s conference is “Research and Education – Most Impactful Together”, emphasizing the powerful synergies between research and education.
This significant event brings together over 300 delegates from 40 universities across 22 countries to convene in Turku, Finland. The Coimbra Group, established in 1985, is an association of long-standing European multidisciplinary universities committed to promoting internationalization, academic cooperation, excellence in education and research and societal service. The Annual Conference provides a platform for extensive discussions on current issues among various working groups and stakeholders, fostering collaboration and influencing European research and education policy.
The Arqus Alliance is represented by Dorothy Kelly, Arqus Coordinator, in the Open Session on the European Universities Alliances titled “Synergies between Education and Research: What Can We Learn from the Alliances?” scheduled for today, 6th June, from 14:00 to 15:00 CEST. This session will feature representatives from the 4EU+, CHARM-EU, EC2U, ENLIGHT and Una Europa Alliances, along with Vanessa Debiais-Sainton, Head of Unit, Higher Education, DG EAC, European Commission, and Manuel Aleixo, Head of Unit, ERA, Spreading Excellence and Research Careers, DG RTD, European Commission.
Earlier today, the Public Conference “Research and Education – Most Impactful Together” will take place from 9:00 to 12:00 CEST.
