Arqus participates in the UGR 2024 Student Reception Days!
|
27 Sep 2024On 25 and 26 September, the University of Granada held its emblematic annual Student Reception Days with great success. Over 7000 people attended the event, where they discovered the rich cultural, academic and institutional offer of the UGR and got to know the associations and entities that make up university life.
Arqus Alliance took part in this important initiative, designed specifically for new students, to gain first-hand experience of the resources, activities and services provided by the University and the city of Granada. This will facilitate their adaptation and integration into the university environment.
The Alliance hosted an informative stand where the team shared insights about the international opportunities it offers to the Higher Education community. They highlighted efforts to support the mobility of students, faculty, researchers and administrative staff, while also promoting the development and recognition of joint degrees at master and doctoral levels across Europe.
During the two days, participants had the opportunity to learn about the joint master’s degrees offered by the Alliance, as well as to explore a wide range of opportunities, such as short mobilities, language courses, language exchanges, summer schools and collaborative projects between students from the different Arqus universities.
The use of fun interactive games like Kahoot enabled participants to learn about scholarships and funding programs, like the Arqus Talent Scholarship Fund, as well as personal and professional development programs, like the Mentoring Program for Young Researchers and PhD Week. The Arqus Entrepreneurs Programme was also presented, which offers visits to Alliance universitiy incubators and training in business internationalisation strategies.
In line with one of the key objectives of the Arqus Alliance, which is to promote sustainability, the Arqus participation in the UGR Student Welcome Days adopted an eco-friendly approach. Instead of printing new brochures, we used the existing stock, contributing to waste reduction and the responsible use of available resources. To share information about Arqus opportunities, details were displayed directly from the website on a designated screen or accessed via QR codes, encouraging digital access.
Arqus Alliance has been a key participant in this event since its inception, playing a pivotal role in establishing itself as a vital initiative for the internationalisation of the university community. By becoming aware of the resources and networks available through Arqus, students can enhance their educational experience, expand their academic and cultural horizons and develop a more global perspective.
