Arqus Multiple Master in Translation

Target students

The programme complements the general knowledge of Translation graduates through advanced training, specialised and multidisciplinary, oriented towards professional competences.
In addition, it is also intended for graduates from other fields to acquire the necessary skills to enter the professional translation labour market.

Presentation

The Arqus Multiple Master’s Degree Programme in Translation is a study programme that brings together different approaches to translation and translation studies, enhancing collaboration between Arqus universities and other European universities, providing future graduates with a broader vision of this discipline, ensuring their smooth integration into the international labour market.

  • Université Jean Monnet Saint-Étienne (France)
  • University of Minho (Portugal)
  • University of Padua (Italy)
  • Vilnius University (Lithuania)
  • Universtiy of Wrocław (Poland)

The studies will allow the acquisition of advanced knowledge in the field of Translation and demonstrate, in a scientific-technological or highly specialised research context, a detailed and well-founded understanding of the theoretical-practical aspects and work methodology in this field of study.

Official degree: The qualifications that can be obtained once the programme has been passed are (depending on the study path):

  • Universidad de Granada: Máster Universitario en Traducción Profesional.
  • Université Jean Monnet Saint-Etienne: Master Traduction et interprétation Parcours Métiers de la Rédaction et de la Traduction
  • Universidade do Minho: Mestrado em Tradução e Comunicação Multilingue (MTCM).
  • Università degli Studi di Padova: Laurea Magistrale in Lingue moderne per la comunicazione e la cooperazione internazionale.
  • Vilniaus universitetas: Humanitarinių mokslų magistro laipsnis. Studijų kryptis: vertimas. 
  • Uniwersytet Wrocławski: Romance Studies. Translation and interpreting.

Mobility


This programme involves staying at least one semester in one of the partner universities different from the home university. It offers the possibility of studying a double or multiple degree programme with partner universities.

Likewise, students will be able to study an additional semester at the University of Bergen (Norway), although this university is not part of the multiple degree program.

Curriculum

The programme promotes mobility in the context of a well-structured and rich study programme. It provides graduates with advanced international training experience. Three of the universities involved (University of Granada, University of Minho and Vilnius University) are part of the European Master’s in Translation (EMT) network, bringing their expertise and experience in training translation graduates following the EMT competence framework.
