What should I include in the motivation statement regarding my role as an Arqus ambassador?

Please describe in a short statement (max. 4,000 characters with spaces) what makes you a talented postgraduate student. For what academic reasons did you choose the relevant Master’s as well as your entrance and mobility universities? Please explain the form (study period, training, research stay, co-supervision arrangement, co-tutelle, etc.) you would like to choose for the compulsory mobility. What could your role as an Arqus Ambassador look like?

An online orientation session with information about the compulsory mobility and the Arqus Ambassadors programme will be organised for all successful applicants in September 2024.

What does “Confirmation of application” mean?

“Confirmation of application” refers to any document that proves that you have successfully applied for admission to a master’s programme at one of the nine Arqus universities. This confirmation is a prerequisite for applying to our scholarship programme.

What do “entrance university” and “mobility university” mean in the context of the scholarship application?

“Entrance university” is the Arqus university where you have applied for admission and plan to pursue your Master’s programme.
“Mobility university” is the university where you plan to complete your compulsory mobility period.

Can you provide more information about the compulsory mobility to be completed by awarded students?

Scholarship recipients must complete at least one mobility period at a second Arqus partner university. The mobility period’s minimum duration is 1 month, with the maximum duration depending on the regulations of your chosen Master’s university. When applying for the scholarship, we do not require proof of a fully planned mobility period.

However, you should have an idea of how mobility to a second Arqus university can be integrated into your study programme. This should be explained in your motivation letter. It is advisable to have several mobility alternatives in case your first choice does not work out. Remember, your mobility stay cannot be EU-funded as our scholarship is already EU-funded. The mobility can take the form of a: study period, training, or research stay.

An online orientation session with information about compulsory mobility and the Arqus Ambassadors programme will be organised for all successful applicants in September 2024.
