From 10 to 13 March, the University of Lyon 1 is hosting the Arqus Winter School on Bioaerosols, health, climate change and sustainable development.

More than 20 researchers, students and professors from across Arqus Alliance universities gathered for a Winter School dedicated to bioaerosols – airborne biological particles that influence climate, health, and ecosystems.

Through hands-on sessions and expert-led discussions, participants explored:

  • Cutting-edge techniques for bioaerosol detection and characterization
  • Their role in disease transmission and climate interactions
  • The intersection of environmental science and microbiology

This initiative is funded by the Arqus Innovation Fund and coordinated by professor Alain Miffre (from the University of Claude Bernard Lyon 1). It aims to foster interdisciplinary collaboration to better understand and mitigate bioaerosol impacts. A step forward in addressing global environmental and health challenges!

The Arqus Innovation Fund aims to incentivise innovative bottom-up initiatives by Arqus staff and students that go hand in hand with the objectives of the Arqus Alliance and its three major action lines: Education, Research and Innovation, and Social Engagement. Check the last projects funded.
