Four leading European universities — the Universities of Granada, Minho and Wroclaw (Arqus partners), together with the Université Catholique de Louvain — are pleased to announce the second edition of the Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) “Plant Adaptations to Climate Change”.

This international programme offers a unique learning experience combining online and in-person training. The first virtual phase will take from 15 to 19 June, followed by an on-site intensive week at the University of Minho (Portugal) from 22 to 26 June. The programme will conclude with a final online phase from 29 June to 3 July.

In the context of increasing environmental pressures, agriculture is facing unprecedented challenges driven by climate change and pollution. This BIP responds to these global issues through a multidisciplinary and hands-on approach, integrating theory, experimentation and cutting-edge research.

Participants will explore key topics such as plant physiology, development and productivity, focusing on plant responses to abiotic and biotic stresses associated with climate change and environmental pollution.

The programme includes:

  • Theoretical sessions delivered online and in person, in both synchronous and asynchronous formats
  • Practical experimental activities to apply theoretical knowledge
  • Specialised seminars led by national and international experts, offering insight into current research advances and emerging trends in plant sciences

Programme details:

  • Field of education: Biology
  • Level: Master’s and Doctoral students
  • Language: English
  • Credits: 6 ECTS
  • Number of places: 15 students
