The University of Lyon 1 is delighted to announce scholarships in support of excellent students who wish to take up their second year of Master’s degree in France, in a Master’s Programme dedicated to the Musculo-Skeletal system. Scholarships for Master 2 are open for the academic year 2024-2025 to join the Master’s Programme MuSkLE (“Musculo-Skeletal system, Locomotion, Exercise).

The MuSkLE Programme in France offers comprehensive education from the molecular to the integrative level of the musculoskeletal system. This Master’s Programme is designed for a maximum of 20 students per class, with over 50% of the students being international.

Programme highlights:

  • Field of teaching: Unique in France, covering from the molecular to the integrative level of the musculoskeletal system.
  • Language of instruction: All courses are taught in English.
  • Disciplines covered: Cell biology, Physiology, Biomechanics, Kinesiology, Health and Sport Sciences.
  • Internship: 10-month internship in one of the 18 research teams of the MuSkLE consortium.

Scholarship details:

  • Amount: €1,000 per month for 10 months, totaling €10,000 per year per recipient.
  • Availability: 10 scholarships available for the upcoming academic year.
  • Compatibility: This scholarship is compatible with other international mobility aid programmes.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Must be a foreign student living outside of France at the time of application.
  • Must have completed one year of Master’s studies before July 2023 in fields related to Biology, Biomechanics, Health, Kinesiology, Medicine, Physiology, Sport Sciences or any field related to the musculoskeletal system.

Selection criteria:

  • Academic excellence.
  • Internship experiences and technical skills in research.
  • Motivation and consistency of the professional project.

Application periods:

  • Period 1: 1st April – 15th May 2024.
  • Period 2: 5th June – 6th July 2024.

Required documents:

  • Certificate of English level B1 (except for native English speakers).
  • Curriculum Vitae.
  • Proof of diplomas – equivalent to 4 years in a Higher Education Establishment (240 ECTS).
  • Description of studies.
  • Copy of an official identity document.
  • Letter of motivation.
  • Copy of academic transcripts.
  • SFRI Graduate+ Contact form.

Administrative documents:

In parallel with the above procedure, students should follow the appropriate steps according to their situation:

  • Students living abroad in a country not covered by the Campus France-Etudes en France scheme must apply via eCandidat: 15th May 2024, for period 1, and 7th July 2024, for period 2.
  • Students living in one of the countries covered by the Campus France-Etudes en France scheme must follow the CEF procedure on the Etudes en France server. Students should consult the Campus France website for their country of residence or contact them for specific dates and procedures.

Selection procedure:

  • For period 1, the jury will meet on 23rd May, and notifications will be issued on 24th May.
  • For period 2, the jury will meet on 7th July, and notifications will be issued on16th July.
