The Arqus Alliance proudly congratulates the University of Padua on its recent Institutional Award, as it is among the 10 institutions that have participated in the Erasmus Mundus programme for the longest time. “For its outstanding contribution to the success of the Erasmus Mundus action within the Erasmus+ programme, as one of the select few institutions with the longest and largest participation in this action, and as a beacon of excellence in the delivery of Erasmus Mundus programmes.” The Alliance celebrates these achievements as a testament to the power of international collaboration and a shared commitment to academic excellence.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Erasmus Mundus programme, an initiative by the European Commission that facilitates the joint delivery of master’s programmes through collaboration with international partners. These Joint Master programmes involve at least three institutions from three different countries and numerous associated partners from both academic and non-academic sectors, including periods of study, research, internships, preparation and discussion of a thesis.

In recognition of its longstanding participation and outstanding contributions to the Erasmus Mundus programme, the University of Padua was awarded an Institutional Award. This accolade is granted to institutions with the longest and most significant participation in the programme, celebrating their excellence in delivering Erasmus Mundus programmes. The award was presented by the European Commission on Monday, 27th May, in Brussels, and received by Mara Thiene, delegate for Joint Degrees and International Rankings at the University of Padua.

“The University of Padua has been participating in this programme since 2004, with 39 joint degree programmes”, commented Mara Thiene. “The Erasmus Mundus programmes have had an extremely positive impact on our University, expanding collaborations with foreign universities, attracting quality students from around the world, adopting innovative teaching methodologies, enhancing our reputation in international rankings and significantly improving administrative processes and services offered to students. This recognition is the result of an institutional strategy aimed at supporting internationalization and joint degree programmes”.

This award is a significant achievement not only for the University of Padua but also for the Arqus Alliance, of which the university is a proud member. The Alliance, dedicated to fostering internationalization and cooperation, celebrates this success as a testament to the collaborative efforts and shared vision of its member institutions. The recognition underscores the Alliance’s mission to create a connected and innovative academic community.

Additionally, at the same conference, the University of Padua’s Master CCD–STeDe received the Best Poster Award for its outstanding and tangible showcase of the Erasmus Mundus Master Programme’s impact at multiple levels. This second award further exemplifies the university’s excellence and the strength of the joint programmes supported by the Arqus Alliance.

By prioritizing internationalization and cooperation, the Arqus Alliance continues to lead the way towards academic excellence and innovation. The awards highlight the powerful impact of collaborative efforts in higher education, paving the way for a brighter and more interconnected future.
