01 Apr 2022The consortium members of the H2020 project “CLARIFY – CLoud ARtificial Intelligence For PathologY” (Number of reference: MSCA-ITN-2019), where the University of Granada participates as a partner, invites Arqus young researchers and PhD students to register for the CLARIFY Training School on digital pathology. The School will take place from 5th to 7th April. Attendance is free and registration is open until 2nd April.
CLARIFY is an innovative, multinational, multi-sectorial, and multidisciplinary research and training programme that links two highly differentiated specialities: engineering and medicine, to train 12 Early Stage Researchers (ESRs) in artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing and clinical pathology with the focus on digital pathology.
CLARIFY’s main goal is to develop a robust automated digital diagnostic environment based on artificial intelligence and cloud-oriented data algorithms that facilitates whole-slide-image (WSI) interpretation and diagnosis everywhere with the aim of maximising the benefits of digital pathology and aiding pathologists in their daily work.
The first part of this second Training School will address general topics of interest for the training of ESRs: planning and execution of research projects, scientific communication in the digital era, responsible research, how to add value to research, and the presence of women in Science and Technology (STEM gap). The second part of the School is oriented towards technical training that will cover labeling models in medical images, content-based image retrieval, transformers, Bayesian modelling and inference in digital pathology, representation and management of medical knowledge, discrimination of risk factors, ethical challenges of AI and convolutional networks on graphs. The School will conclude with a presentation of the work that the ESRs are doing.
