Open Science

Webinar Series with ENLIGHT

2nd Webinar

“Open Science is just science done right”. This is a slogan one sometimes hears at the local Open Science community in Uppsala, called OSU. Most OSU visitors do think Open Science leads to better-in-some-way science. And we know that it is hard to be critical on something most of us prefer so much. We do, however, try to remain critical and ask questions such as: ‘Is it worth it?’. In this webinar, Richèl Bilderbeek talks about some of the pros and cons of Open Science and the Uppsala community.
Following on from this, we want to discuss further experiences of the pros and cons of Open Science within both alliances.

Our next webinar will take place on 28 February 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM (CET). Richèl Bilderbeek from the University of Uppsala (Sweden) will present insights into the pros and cons of Open Science within the local Open Science community. [Information for participation will follow soon]

1st Webinar

Open Science plays a pivotal role in the sharing of knowledge and research findings across various disciplines, making scientific research accessible to all, with benefits for both scientists and society as a whole. While many researchers are already actively engaged in Open Science, there are also individuals who encounter difficulties and may be uncertain about how to begin their journey. For them, the upcoming webinar series aims to identify and discuss obstacles and reservations in using Open Science, and also to present best practices to help individuals overcome these challenges.

You are warmly invited to be part of our joint webinar series on Open Science, organized by the European university alliances, ENLIGHT and Arqus. The first webinar took place on 13 December 2023, where Pia Voigt (Co-lead of the work package “Open Science Agenda” in Arqus RI, Leipzig University) presents on Open Science practices and challenges in a European university alliance.
