The focus areas offered by the University of Graz are South-Eastern Europe; socio-economic development and social change; peace, migration, and climate change; and human right and diversity management.
At the University of Graz, the Joint Master’s programme is embedded in the field of excellence “Dimensions of Europeanization” and in the Centre for Southeast European Studies.
In the field of excellence “Dimensions of Europeanization” professors of five faculties (School of Business, Economics and Social Sciences, of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, of the Faculty of Law, of the Faculty of Environmental, Regional and Educational Sciences and of the Catholic Theological Faculty) and the inter-faculty Centre for South-East European Studies joined forces.
The Centre for Southeast European Studies is an interdisciplinary and cross-faculty institution, established with the goal to connect teaching and research on and with Southeast Europe. Apart from the Joint MA Programmes in SEES and European Studies, the Centre coordinates two PhD programmes with a regional focus. It is a regular host to numerous conferences, workshops, and prominent scholars. Its close collaboration with universities, research institutes, and civil society actors from across Europe, the Western Balkans, and Turkey, render the Centre an international hub that connects academic expertise on Southeast Europe.
The administrative coordination of the programme lies with the Joint Programme Team of the Office of International Relations. Information and contact for students: https://www.jointdegree.eu/en/
