Arqus joint call for Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs)
Arqus is pleased to launch its third joint call for Blended Intensive Programmes (BIP), which are designed and funded by the Erasmus+ programme.
Blended Intensive Programmes (BIP) are intensive programmes that use innovative ways of learning and teaching, including the use of online cooperation. These programmes for students and staff must comprise a short-term physical mobility abroad combined with a compulsory virtual component, facilitating a collaborative online learning exchange and teamwork.
The programmes have to be developed and implemented by at least 3 partners from Erasmus+ programme countries, and in this case, at least 2 universities from the Arqus Alliance.
One of the partners will cover the role of coordinator. One of the partners, not necessarily the coordinator, will host the in-presence activities for 5 (min) to 30 (max) days and provide at least 3 ECTS. The home institution of each participant will be responsible for the recognition of the credits in their career, study programme.
The virtual component is compulsory, but there are no constraints on timing or length. The BIP should involve a minimum of mobile participants (10 to 20, depending on the hosting partners) from the universities in the programme country. Participants can be either students (all cycles) or staff.
Contents for both the physical and the virtual component should be co-designed by the partners and can be either interdisciplinary or very specific. Activities must be implemented during the period from January to 31 July 2026.
The call is open until 15 November 2025.
Financing
This initiative is funded through Erasmus+ KA131 funds allocated by each university for Arqus BIPs.
The coordinator will receive an Organisational Support (OS) according to the number of mobile participants. Each university provides funds to approve a certain number of coordinating BIPs at its institution, according to the local budget.
Arqus universities will also provide KA131 funds to cover the mobility of participants and co-organising lecturers. Scholarships will be primarily granted to the participants selected through internal procedures.
Funds and scholarships management will depend on the internal regulations of each institution.
Application deadlines and procedures
Academics can apply for BIPs by submitting their applications via this form. Deadline: 15 November 2025
The application form has to be filled in by one representative (the coordinator) on behalf of all the institutions participating in the call. Applicants will be required to provide their contact details and information about their study field, the contact details of their administrative and technical supports (for the hosting university), as well as to present the overall project, its genesis, aims, learning outcome and impact, along with a provisional programme for the implementation.

Selection criteria
Learning outcomes (clearly explained and linked to the field of study of the students and/or the tasks carried on by the staff).
Implementation strategies.
Innovativeness of the contents and/or methods.
Sustainability of the action (follow-up and further development of the project).
Expected impact on the participants and the institution.
Applications related to the main Arqus II themes (European Identity heritage, digital transformation and artificial intelligence; climate change and environmental sustainability) will be prioritised. Applications based on other topics will also be evaluated.
Obligations of the selected applicants
The host institution will be required to release Attendance Certificates and Transcript of Records or equivalent documents for all the participants.
All selected programmes will be required to fill in a report at the end of the activities.
In case a BIP could not be realised within the time and rules provided, all parties have to be duly informed. Any change to the organisation of the BIP should be communicated to the Mobility Officers at each partner university and to the WG09 coordinators.
Implementation and added value
The selected BIPs will be labelled as Arqus programmes. At the end of the Programme, all participants (both mobile and local) will also receive an Arqus certificate of participation.
Mobility officers at each university will provide instructions on the overall implementation rules, financial management, and mobility recognition once the programmes are selected, in accordance with the regulations at each institution.
