28 Jan 2022The University of Padua opens a call for 15 places in the Spring School on ‘Diversity beyond the landscape. Excellencies and challenges of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Prosecco Hills’ that will take place in Padua and Conegliano, from March to May 2022.
The Spring School includes four two-day field trips to the UNESCO site of the Prosecco Hills in Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, and online and face-to-face teaching in Padova and Conegliano.
It is articulated into four modules, each of them including one half-day of lectures or seminars and a two-day field trip (not final dates):
• March 18-19 > Natural diversity. Geological and botanical characteristics of the hills, and landscape ecology
• April 1-2 > Agronomic diversity: biodiversity in agriculture, cultivar, agronomic techniques, history of viticulture;
• April 22-23 > Social diversity: demography, emigration and immigration;
• May 13-14 > Cultural diversity: localisms, dialects, arts, and tourism
The teaching and research activity of the Spring School aims at producing research and projects to be assessed and appreciated within the Arqus Challenge-based learning programme, including through participation in the Arqus Student-led Forum, which will take place in April 2022.
The call is open to students with a Bachelor or Master degree title; they have to be enrolled (a.y. 2021/2022) in the last two years of a five-year single-cycle degree programme or in a Master degree programme or in the final year of a Bachelor programme. At least a B2 level in English language is required.
To participate in this selection, applicants must fill out the online application form available here and upload the documents described in the call by 20 February 2022, 1.00 pm CET.
The ranking list of selected candidates will be published not before 28 February 2022.
Participation in the Padua-Conegliano Spring School does not entail any fees. The University of Padua will partially cover costs related to field trips. There are no scholarships.
