Arqus is launching the 2nd edition of its Mentoring Programme for Early-Stage Researchers (PhD students and postdocs) with a 2-day workshop in Lyon.

Seventeen promising researchers from across Arqus universities are gathering for this special event, with a first workshop led by Yasmin Dolak-Struss taking place today.

Arqus has been running a mentoring programme for young researchers (PhD students and postdocs) since 2023. They are matched with an experienced researcher from another Arqus university, depending on their scientific field. Thematic training courses are also offered online during the 9 months of the programme.

These young researchers coming from Germany, Austria, Spain, Italy, Lithuania, Poland and Portugal are taking part in activities and discussions about their careers and the mentoring year ahead.

The University of Lyon 1 and the Ability project (Lyon 1, Lyon 2, Lyon 3, ENS Lyon) will hold another workshop on 26 September to help PhD candidates and postdocs improve their chances of securing European postdoctoral research funding. Focused on Humanities and Social Sciences, participants will work in small groups on practical tasks like CV preparation to better understand the key criteria for successful applications.
