23 Oct 2023The International Seminar (an Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme) on Ibero-Romance languages in Europe and America, has successfully concluded.
The Seminar was structured in a hybrid format, with the first part held online from 3rd to 6th October and a second phase consisting of a series of face-to-face workshops and cultural visits that took place from 9th to 14th October at the Universidad de Granada.
The event was organised by David Porcel Bueno (University of Granada) and Stefan Koch (University of Dresden), two of the coordinators of the Arqus International Forum on Romance Studies (AIFRS), at the Faculty of Arts, with the participation of twenty professors from European and American universities.
More than forty students from the Universities of Graz, Leipzig, Minho, Padua and Granada participated in this programme. During the different sessions, the importance of multilingualism in linguistic and philological studies was highlighted. The seminars were given in Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and Galician and enabled students to put into practice Romance intercomprehension (beyond the use of English as a lingua franca).
The participants could enjoy a programme of cultural activities that included a visit to the Alhambra and the Rennaissance Granada.
This is the second time that the AIFRS has used these combined BIP programmes to strengthen academic ties between teachers and students of the Arqus Alliance.
