Are bioplastics a more sustainable option than traditional plastics? Is there a way to manage them in an environmentally and economically viable manner? These are the questions at the heart of Dominique Rocher’s research project, which was selected for COP28 in Dubai and won the the EDHE National Student Entrepreneurship Competition 2023 in South Africa.

For this 25th episode of the Arqus Knowledge Pills “How can bioplastics contribute to a more sustainable future?”, we invited Dominique Rocher, Arqus Talent Fund scholarship awardee and researcher in Microbiology & Environmental Science and co-founder of Urobo and whose project has been recently selected in South Africa and COP28 in Dubai. In this episode, we dive into the importance of bioplastics in mitigating the plastic pollution crisis.

Thanks to this initiative, together with Wessel Myburgh, co-founder of Urobo Biotech, she will be able to develop her doctoral project at the University of Padua.
