The Arqus Alliance participates in the annual edition of the European Researchers Night in Granada

02 Oct 2023On September 29, more than 700 scientists from 16 different institutions in Granada once again brought science and opportunities for young researchers to life in a new edition of the European Researchers’ Night 2023, an annual event held simultaneously in more than 400 European cities.
Paseo del Salón, one of the biggest open spaces in Granada, hosted throughout the day more than 30 stands with talks, workshops, experiments, and other entertaining activities to show the citizens of Granada the more human side of science, in which the Arqus Alliance participated to promote initiatives in the fields of research, innovation, and mobility to educational centers and anyone interested in the subject.
More than 440 researchers from the University of Granada participated in this important outreach event, which not only had as its main protagonists the youngest, about 400 schoolchildren from different schools in Granada but was also focused on awakening scientific and research vocations with activities open to the public.
In the morning, the local Arqus Alliance team at the University of Granada prepared a talk for more than 30 high school students from a school in Granada on the international dimension of mobility in the framework of the Alliances, and in the promotion of European opportunities and values. In the afternoon, one of the teachers involved in recent Alliance initiatives prepared a session, oriented to the opportunities offered by Arqus in the field of research.
Throughout the day, the Alliance had an information stand in Paseo del Salón, which was visited by the general public interested in mobility opportunities, language exchanges, research, and joint degrees.
In addition to the Arqus Alliance with the University of Granada, the Andalusian School of Public Health, IFMIF-DONES, DASCI, CIMCYC, ASBAN, the Health Technology Park, the Institute of Biosanitary Research of Granada (ibs.Granada), Caja Granada Museum, Caja Rural Foundation, Caja Granada Foundation, Granada Provincial Council, the Healthy Skin Association, the Science Park and FIDESOL, among other institutions, participated in the European Researchers’ Night.
