Dr Pilar Aranda Ramírez is a full professor of Physiology at the University of Granada. She has occupied the posts of founding director of the Student Agency and Vice Rector for Student Affairs at the University of Granada, Executive Secretary of the Euro-Arab Foundation for Advanced Studies and Executive Secretary of the Regional Research Plan for Andalusia. She has been Rector of the University of Granada since June 2015 and is currently also Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Health Sciences Technology Park of Granada. She was Vice-President of the Spanish Rectors’ Conference from November 2017 to May 2019

Margareth Hagen was appointed rector at the University of Bergen on January 7, 2021. Prior to this she was pro-rector from 2017 to 2021. In her role as pro-rector she had a particular responsibility towards research, ph.d.-programmes, and research ethics.

In the spring of 2021, Hagen was elected Rector for the next four-year period from August 2021 to August 2025.

Margareth Hagen is Professor of Italian Literature. Hagen has broad organizational and managerial experience from UiB. She has been Head of Research at the Department of Foreign Languages and has, further, led the Equality Committee at UiB. She was until 31.07.2017 Dean of the Faculty of Humanities.

Rector Martin Polaschek was born in 1965. After completing his studies in law, he obtained his habilitation qualification in 2000 in the area of Austrian and European legal history. From 2003 to 2019, he served as the Vice-Rector for Studies and Teaching at the University of Graz. His academic focus is in the area of post-war justice.

Beate A. Schücking

Professor Beate A. Schücking is the Rector of Leipzig University. She is the head of the University and represents itexternally. As chair of the Rectorate, she decides on its regulations and dealswith the orientation of research and teaching as well as the implementation ofSenate resolutions.

Frederic Fleury

Frederic Fleury

Frédéric Fleury, Professor of Genetics and evolutionary biology, is President of Claude Bernard Lyon 1 University since 2016. He was re-elected in December 2020 for a second term as head of the University.

He was dean of the biology department in the faculty of science and technology at Lyon 1 University from 2010 to 2016. At the same time, he also held the position of vice president in charge of real estate and sustainable development from 2012 to 2016.

He has also directed the “Genetics and the Evolution of Host-Parasite Interactions” research team within the Biometry and Evolutionary Biology laboratory. His research has shown, in particular, the role of certain vertically-transmitted symbiotic bacteria as disruptors in their hosts’ reproduction and works on effect of climate change on host parasite interaction.

Since 2020, he has been a member of the orientation committee of the national agency ANRS-MIE, emerging infectious diseases.

University of Padua

Daniela Mapelli

Daniela Mapelli

Starting on 1st October 2021, Daniela Mapelli will be the Rector of the University of Padua for the following six years (2021-2027).
Daniela is a 1991 the University of Padua graduate in Experimental Psychology who obtained her PhD in Experimental Psychology in 1996 at the University of Trieste. She spent two years (1993 -1995) at Carnegie Mellon University in the Department of Psychology’s Cognitive Neuroscience Lab. Between 1997 and 2003 she held post-doc positions in the Department of General Psychology and a postdoctoral fellowship at the Department of Medicine of the University of Padua. In 2003, Daniela became a university researcher. In 2010 she became an Associate Professor and in 2016, she obtained a Full Professorship position at the University of Padua where she teaches Neuropsychology and Neuropsychological Rehabilitation. She has published hundreds of scientific articles in international journals in the field of cognitive neuroscience with more than 2629 citations and an H-index of 25 (Google Scholar). She is a member of the Cognitive Neuroscience Society, the Herbert Simon Society, the Italian Association of Psychology, and the Italian Society of Neuropsychology.

Vilnius University

Rimvydas Petrauskas

Rimvydas Petrauskas

Rector of Vilnius University. He is a professor of History, specialized in Political and Social History of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. R. Petrauskas was a Dean of the Faculty of History at Vilnius University during the period of 2012-2020. In April 2020 he became the Rector. He is a full member of the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences, President of the Lithuanian National Committee of Historians, a member of several international academic organizations and a member of the editorial boards of ten scientific journals.
