A dynamic framework for student-led co-creation initiatives. The Student Agora is focused on:
The Arqus Student Agora is an umbrella initiative for diverse student-led groupings conceived as drivers for students to act as co-creators of our new European University, in academic, social and cultural affairs. The Arqus Student Agora is conceived as a safe space for students at partner universities to actively improve their European University experience.
Students are empowered through mentorship to become active Arqus participants developing their own projects in digital and physical environments, aiming to alleviate problems experienced at their universities, within the Alliance and beyond in society at large.
As the Arqus Alliance expands to include more stakeholders, the perspectives of students must be considered in the application of a bottom-up approach in tandem with the top-down approach of creating the university of the future which values both diversity and sustainability in research, governance and community.
The bottom-up approach has objectives from the students’ perspectives, while the top-down approach highlights the objectives within the alliance and at individual partner universities, aiming to improve transparency and learning assessments. Some of these objectives intersect to provide mutual benefits, whereas those that are non-intersectional help maintain individual creativity and differentiate levels of motivation.
