The workshop “SheCodesPsy: Reprogramming stereotypes! Empowering female psychology students with coding skills” will take place from the 13th to the 15th of May 2026 in Granada. This initiative is funded by the Arqus Teaching Innovation Fund and the María de Maeztu Unit of Excellence of the Mind, Brain and Behavior Research Center.
The project is a collaboration between the University of Granada and the University od Padua and aims to bridge the gap between psychology and technology. As the fields of psychology and cognitive neuroscience increasingly rely on big data and artificial intelligence, particularly in research-oriented career paths, coding has become an essential and highly valued competence.
At the same time, female students remain underrepresented in technological domains and often face greater barriers to accessing computational training. “SheCodesPsy” directly adresses this challenge by creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment where participants can acquire foundational programming skills explicitly reflecting on and challenging gender-based stereotypes in STEM.
