In the framework of Arqus European Identity & Heritage Living Lab, the universities of Granada, Leipzig and Minho organise a workshop on Heritage and Society on 23-27 June in Extremo (Arcos de Valdevez, Portugal).
Titled “Living Lab Heritage & Society: Theoretical and methodological background for co-constructing heritage knowledge with the local community”, this workshop seeks to use the village of Extremo as a living laboratory, drawing on previous archaeological work, memory and heritage analysis and community-based research.
The workshop will allow students, teachers and researchers to engage with the local community, addressing local development issues through co-creation and collaborative knowledge building, focused on cultural heritage and the agrarian landscape. The experience will be enhanced by the contribution and experience of lecturers and researchers from 3 Arqus universities (Granada, Leipzig and Minho), as well as from other universities such as A Coruña and Oviedo (Spain).
The workshop will be blended, with morning classes streamed. Registration is required.
Afternoon classes and workshops with the local community will be recorded and later uploaded to the Arqus YouTube channel. The activities will be carried out in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
