The third Arqus Annual Conference kicks off today at the University of Graz!

04 Apr 2023The third Arqus Annual Conference kicks off today at the University of Graz under the topic “Promoting Human Rights in Arqus”, echoing the commemoration of the 75th Anniversary of the Declaration of Human Rights this year. The welcoming ceremony, chaired by the the Austrian Federal Minister of Education, Science and Research, Martin Polaschek, will start at 09:15 CET and will be broadcasted live on the Arqus YouTube channel.
Right after the formal opening, from 09:45 CET, the Confernce will hold the first Plenary Session devoted to the defense and promotion of Human Rights. Patrycja Matusz (Vice-Rector for Projects and International Relations at the University of Wroclaw), Myroslava Antonovych (Head of the Center for Genocide and Human Rights Studies at the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy), Sjur Bergan (former Head of the Council of Europe’s Education Department), and Lisa Heschl (Deputy Director of the European Training and Research Centre for Human Rights and Democracy at the University of Graz) will participate in this round table.
The second Plenary Session will take place tomorrow, 5th April, from 11:00 CET and will address the Conference’s key insights and main conclusions from the members of the Arqus Action Line Boards and the Arqus Student Council. During this session, the winners of the Arqus Teaching Excellence Award will be announced in its two categories “enabling research-based teaching” and “enabling students”.
