16 Sep 2025In July 2025, the Graz International Summer School Seggau (GUSEGG) dedicated a special day to the Arqus Alliance, hosting an event called Arqus Day with the theme “Translating Time.”
The GUSEGG Summer School is a two-week academic program designed to deepen the understanding of contemporary global trends and challenges. This year, from 6 to 19 July, the program focused on the theme Time, Temporality, and Transition: State – Society – Religion.
Arqus Day kicked off with morning lectures by Prof. Juliette Cherbuliez from the University of Minnesota, USA, and Prof. Murray Forman from Northeastern University, USA.
The day continued with a presentation by Prof. Roberta Maierhofer of the Arqus Alliance, organised in collaboration with the Arqus AI&DT Living Lab. Thanks to this collaboration, the participation fee for one student from the University of Leipzig was covered!
In the evening, Prof. Satty Flaherty-Echeverría from Carleton College, USA, delivered a lecture titled Digitalisation & AI: Academic Challenges, where she explored the multifaceted nature of artificial intelligence, discussing how academic institutions can navigate its complexities and effectively integrate AI into professional and everyday academic practices.
