The director from the University of Graz centre of Innovation (UNICORN), Bernhard Weber, will be participating as a speaker on the webinar “From research to impact: Institutional support for research-based innovation” at the Community for Educational Innovation (CEI). 

This webinar will take place on 22 October 2025 at 15:30 CET, and it will explore how higher education institutions support researchers in turning their discoveries into research-based innovations and societal impact. 

The session will examine practical approaches to consolidating a robust ecosystem of services for knowledge valorisation. The discussion will highlight how these strategies address key challenges researchers face in exploiting their results and provide insights into successful knowledge exploitation in innovation projects.

The webinar will be divided into four parts: 

  • Presentation 1 – Harnessing research and innovation for societal, economic, and ecological impact – An exploratory analysis of barriers to knowledge valorisation among applied researchers, Verena Régent, Scientific Associate at WPZ Research GmbH, Austria.
