The University of Granada invites Arqus doctoral students to the 5th edition of the MISSCHO International Summer School on Migration Studies. It will take place on 7-10 July 2025 in Granada (Spain). Three scholarships are available.

International migration has been a central topic of public, political, and academic debate for years. Misinformation, fake news, and incitements to xenophobia and racism are not new phenomena; however, with the expansion of social media and digital information channels, their reach, dissemination, and forms of transmission have intensified.

In this context, we ask ourselves: What role do universities and scientific research centres play in building fairer and more accurate information about international migration? How can our research contribute to a scenario where misinformation is increasingly widespread? How can we bring knowledge closer to society? These are some of the questions that shape the works to be presented at the summer school “Migration in times of disinformation”, approached from various disciplines.

The Migration Studies PhD Summer School offers a multi-disciplinary and international approach on migration studies. The main goal of MISSCHO is to bring together researchers who are working on migration-related issues from different disciplines.
