23 Mar 2023The Arqus members, Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 and University of Padua, participate in this event taking place on 30th March at the University of Turin.
For more than two decades, the Franco-Italian University/Italo-French University (UFI/UIF) has been promoting academic and scientific collaboration between France and Italy. It thus fosters the integration of European university education and research systems. Currently, 24 out of the 44 alliances of the European Universities initiative include at least one Italian and one French university, involving nearly 50 institutions. This bilateral cooperation strengthens transnational collaboration within the framework of the European Higher Education Area and the European Research Area, as is reflected in the Quirinal Treaty, signed in November 2021 between Italy and France, committing to “actively promote the participation of Italian and French universities in the project of European universities”.
As part of this commitment, UFI/UIF and the University of Turin, coordinator of the UNITA Alliance, have organised an event with the objective of showcasing the multiple dynamics of the alliances of European universities. The activity will take place on 30th March, with the aim of raising awareness around concrete projects, existing alliances, and initiatives being deployed in Italian and French universities in terms of mobility, research projects, projects aimed at territories, innovative teaching, forms of internationalization of teaching within European alliances, and student initiatives.
The plenary sessions will review the state of the art of the European Universities alliances. Furthermore, several workshops will address different subjects like Innovative Learning paths, mobility formats, R&I, and entrepreneurship for the local ecosystems or student engagement in EU universities. The participant alliances will also have the chance to introduce themselves during a poster session.
The event will take place at the University of Turin and the sessions will also be available on streaming.
