We are delighted to announce that the Alliance will allocate the amount of €828,430 to 17 innovative projects developed by Arqus students and staff in the framework of the first call of the Arqus Innovation Fund!

The Arqus Innovation Fund is an initiative from the Alliance to offer funding with the aim of incentivizing innovative internal bottom-up initiatives from Arqus staff and students through the availability of seed funding, with a view to driving innovation and entrepreneurial mindset, and also to internally strengthening the visibility of Arqus, promoting further staff engagement.

Through this Innovation Fund, Arqus seeks to establish a series of calls of different kinds to be visible both internally at its institutions and externally outside them, in Europe and beyond, increasing also its global outreach.

The total funding requested in this first call amounts to €2,106,058.00, and the final allocation is €828,430, exceeding the originally planned €600,000. This indicator shows the enormous interest aroused by this first call as well as the overall quality of the submitted proposals.

The 17 initiatives selected will receive funding to promote and develop bottom-up activities in joint flexible academic offers and associated research in the following Arqus areas:

  • Arqus Living Lab.
  • Arqus Student Agora.
  • Arqus Teaching Innovation.
  • Arqus Learning Pathways.
  • Arqus PhD Pursuit.
  • Linking Local Ecosystems.
  • Arqus on the Move.
  • Arqus Inclusion & Diversity Hub.
  • Arqus Plurilingual & Intercultural Hub.

This first call has no doubt furthered the potential of the Arqus Alliance to generate impactful joint initiatives, and we very much look forward to seeing the outcomes in the upcoming months and years!
