The University of Granada hosts a delegation from Durham University

31 Oct 2025On 16 October, a delegation from Durham University visited the University of Granada. They were welcomed by Dorothy Kelly (Arqus Coordinator) and Guadalupe Soriano (Arqus Institutional Coordinator), together with Paloma Fernández (Arqus Secretary General), Marina Fernández-Peña (Communications Director for the Alliance) and Luisa Bernstorff (Arqus Director of Operations).
In addition to the nine full members of the Alliance, Durham University is one of the two associate partners from outside the European Union, alongside the National University of Kyiv‑Mohyla Academy in Ukraine.
The visiting delegation comprised Claire O’Malley (Pro-Vice-Chancellor Global), Katie Taylor (International Partnerships Manager) and Emma Moore (Deputy Head Research Partnerships, International Office).
During their visit, they toured the Mind, Brain and Behaviour Research Centre (CIMCYC) at the University of Granada, where they were received by Paqui Serrano (a member of the centre’s research team and Director for Language Policy and Internationalisation of Studies) and Susana Puertas (Vice-Dean, at the Faculty of Communication and Documentation on Internationalisation and Equality).
To conclude the visit, Carmen Osuna (Assistant to the Management of the Arqus Local Team at the University of Granada) guided the delegation around the UGR campus, highlighting its broad spectrum of disciplines in research and teaching, and accompanied the Durham delegation to the Colegio Máximo de Cartuja building at the UGR Faculty of Communication and Documentation.
