22 Dec 2025From 8 to 11 December, the Sciences Library at the University of Lyon 1 hosted the second edition of “Take a break during your revision!”, welcoming more than 600 students over four days of activities and relaxation during the exam revision period.
This initiative was coordinated by the Arqus Alliance and the University Library, in collaboration with the Equality and Diversity Office, the Culture Office, the Student Health Service (SSE), the Student Guidance and Career Service (SOIE), and the University Sports Service (SUAPS).
The aim of this event was to provide students with a welcoming space to take a break, relax, and discover new activities during a particularly demanding academic period.
Each day during the lunch break and in the early afternoon, students were able to take part in a wide range of activities, including board games, revision techniques workshops, memory quizzes, sports activities, theatre workshops and international-themed activities.
As part of the event, the Arqus Alliance organised an international stand in the library hall, offering interactive and playful activities to help students discover international mobility opportunities within the Arqus network. Over the four days, more than 250 students visited the Arqus stand, enjoying a short moment of discovery and symbolic travel during their revision break.
Additional activities were proposed by the university services involved. The Culture Office offered an introductory theatre workshop focusing on self-confidence, presence and expression.
The University Sports Service organised sports activities such as tennis, paddle, pickleball and laser rifle shooting. The Student Guidance and Career Serviceled short quiz-based workshops to help students identify their dominant learning styles and discover effective revision methods. The Student Health Service organised a sophrology workshop dedicated to relaxation and stress management, while the Library hosted board game sessions as well as a culinary and sensory experimentation workshop. The Equality and Diversity Office also hosted a games stand, contributing to the friendly and inclusive atmosphere of the event.
This second edition once again met with great success, thanks in particular to the strong involvement of the Arqus Alliance and the close cooperation between university services.
Students greatly appreciated this opportunity to disconnect, relax and socialise during the exam period, while the collaboration between several university departments proved to be both highly effective and well-received, making it possible to offer a rich and varied programme and to reach a wide and diverse student audience.
The event was funded by the Student Life and Campus Contribution (CVEC).
