WG07 – Arqus PhD Week for Careers outside Academia

The Arqus Training Programme for Careers Outside Academia, in short, the Arqus Career Week, is a five-day event to support Early-Stage Researchers in considering professional pathways beyond university research. A group of international trainers and experts from the different Arqus universities host a variety of workshops on topics such as: creating attractive application materials, handling job interviews, presenting yourself online, and recognising your own skills for the job market. The Career Week is a long-standing format in Arqus and has previously been hosted in Graz, Lyon, Granada and Wrocław, with the next two events taking place in Padova in 2025 and Maynooth in 2026. Due to high demand, the number of selected participants has been increased from 30 to 40 in the past years. The Career Week is a very successful offer regarding participant feedback and as it is a recurring event, this gives us the opportunity to constantly keep improving and adapting the programme.
