The Arqus Training Programme for Careers Outside Academia, in short, the Arqus Career Week, is a five-day event designed to support early-stage researchers in considering professional pathways beyond university research. A group of international trainers and experts from the different Arqus universities host a variety of workshops on topics such as creating attractive application materials, handling job interviews, presenting yourself online, and recognising your own skills for the job market.
The Career Week is a long-standing format in Arqus and has previously been hosted in Graz, Lyon, Granada and Wrocław. The last two events took place in Padua in 2025 and Maynooth in 2026. Due to high demand, the number of selected participants has been increased from 30 to 40 in the past years. The Career Week is a highly successful initiative in terms of participant feedback. As a recurring event, it allows us to continuously improve and adapt the programme.
