The winners of the 2024 Arqus Teaching Excellence Awards: honouring outstanding pedagogical practices

The Arqus Teaching Excellence Awards recognize innovative and outstanding pedagogical practices that foster a learning culture transcending disciplinary boundaries, empowering students in inclusive, community-based, and dynamic learning environments within the Arqus Alliance.

This year the honorees are:

  • Dr. Brian McKenzie and the Critical Skills Team for Data Literacy for Arts Students from Maynooth University, for their seminar “Universal Critical Skills/Data Literacy for Arts Students”.
  • Sabine Bergner, Associate Lecturer at the Department of Psychology of the University of Graz, for her course “Psychological Principles of Negotiation, Persuasion and Influence”.

The first winner of the Arqus Green Mobility Days Award: our commitment to sustainability

This new Arqus Award recognizes outstanding commitment to sustainability through innovative green mobility approaches. Elena Della Rocca, an undergraduate Bachelor’s Degree student in Cultural Tourism Planning and Management at the University of Padua, won the award for her project “Better Mobility.” This accolade highlights the impact of personal choices on the ecosystem and positively affects local communities.

The Arqus International Innovators Award 2023: celebrating university-based start-ups

The company Karion Therapeutics from the University of Minho, last year’s winner, was also included in this ceremony. The prize recognizes university-based start-ups planning to internationalize (born global start-ups) from the very beginning, providing international business models to support visibility and networking at the European level.

Congratulations to all the winners for their excellence and dedication!
