Arqus coordinator meets the new President of the University of Lyon 1

15 May 2025Dorothy Kelly, Arqus coordinator, visited the University of Lyon 1 on 13 and 14 May. She had the opportunity to hold meetings with Bruno Lina, recently elected President of Lyon 1, Raphaël Terreux, Vice-President of International Relations, and Dana Daia, Director of International Relations.
Dorothy had the chance to present in detail the Arqus mission, values, goals and achievements to the new President. She underscored the contributions and key role the University of Lyon 1 plays in the Alliance, looking forward to continuing these valuable collaborations in the future.
On 13 May, the Arqus coordinator met as well with Philippe Lalle, Vice-President of Strategic Projets, Julie-Anne Chemelle, Vice-President of Education, and Christelle Marminon, delegate Vice-President of Student Success.
Dorothy also met face to face with Mathieu Maillard, delegate Vice-President of Research for Open Science and Stéphane Daniele, delegate Vice-President of Doctoral Schools, on 14 May.
“These meetings with the University of Lyon 1 President and senior representatives highlight the shared commitment to advancing international cooperation, research and student success, reinforcing ongoing collaboration within the Arqus Alliance”, said Dorothy Kelly, Arqus coordinator.
“The University of Lyon 1 is committed to the Arqus Alliance and its future development. This engagement will primarily focus on student mobility and short courses, which are core elements of our universities’ identity”, reaffirmed Bruno Lina, President of the University of Lyon 1. He also expressed strong interest in microcredentials and the European Degree label: “A key milestone in the path towards implementing a fully-fledged European Degree”.
