Four Arqus Universities celebrate the Arqus Day and Erasmus Days

From 13 to 17 October, four Arqus universities are celebrating Erasmus Days together with the seventh anniversary of the Arqus Alliance. Each university has organised a variety of activities to highlight the spirit of international collaboration.

Erasmus days are held internationally every year to commemorate the Erasmus+ programme and to celebrate the projects and opportunities proposed by Erasmus+. This year’s the local communication teams have organised activities that showcase the mobility opportunities the alliance offers while promoting multiculturalism and international exchange across the nine Arqus universities. 

Some of these activities are still open, so any member of the Arqus community can join and celebrate these special dates with us!

Leipzig University

To mark these two special events, Leipzig University is hosting a poster exhibition in the lecture hall building on its main campus from 13-17 October, showcasing the initiatives and opportunities offered by the Alliance.

On 16 October, an information stand will also be set up in the same location, where students and staff can learn more about Arqus, take part in a wheel of fortune, and pick up a giveaway.

Throughout the week, the Arqus flag will fly in front of the Main Building, highlighting Leipzig University’s strong commitment to European cooperation and academic exchange.

University of Lyon 1

The University of Lyon 1 has organised different activities for students, staff, and the whole community:

For students :

  • Wednesday, October 15, starting at 9:30 a.m.

Erasmus+ and Arqus Day booth

Discover mobility opportunities in Europe through interactive games and free gifts.

  • Wednesday, October 15, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m.

“Want to study abroad?” Come meet the students.

Hear testimonials and feedback from those who have already studied abroad or are currently studying abroad at UCBL, chat with them, and get inspired over coffee and snacks.

For the staff :

  • Tuesday, October 14, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Webinar for academic and administrative staff  “Go international: Erasmus+ mobility opportunities for the entire Lyon 1 community!”

This webinar will present Erasmus+ international mobility opportunities for academic and administrative staff at Lyon 1 University, detailing the possible formats, procedures to follow, and professional benefits.

  • Thursday, October 16, from 12:15 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Round table discussion: “Develop your academic and scientific collaborations with Erasmus+!”

An Erasmus+ round table discussion for teachers and teacher-researchers to present opportunities for cooperation projects, with testimonials from the Erasmus+ Agency and winners. The focus will be on cooperation, partnership projects, Erasmus Mundus, and capacity-building projects. The event, in a hybrid format (in-person or remote), will conclude with a friendly buffet.

For all the Lyon 1 community :

  • Thursday, October 16, from 7:19 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Music and flavors of the world: Concert by Guiz (Tryo), Utopia, a rich universe where song, electro, and poetry meet. Organized by the Cultural Department.

Maynooth University

Maynooth University will be hosting a Gastro Week to celebrate multiculturalism of the Alliance by serving dishes inspired by the Arqus Universities at the On-Campus Phoenix Restaurant from 13 to 17 October.

In addition to this initiative, Maynooth University will also be hosting an Arqus Coffee morning on October 16 from 10:15 to 11:45 (GMT+1), Maynooth time.

University of Minho

Between 13 and 17 October, the University of Minho will be hosting the Arqus week.

This initiative will be marked by a week full of activities designed for students, which will start with the launch of the Arqus experience section on the UMinho webpage, where we willan experience with the alliance.

The week will also feature a special Menu from 13-17 October on the Uminho canteens, where students, academics, and administrative staff can taste the typical dishes from Spain, France, Italy, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Poland, and Lithuania will be available.

On the 17th, the Panorâmico restaurant (in Gualtar) will also have an adapted menu, featuring traditional Portuguese dishes and a buffet of desserts typical of the countries of the Arqus universities.
