The University of Graz invites students from all disciplines at the Arqus universities to participate in this virtual mobility opportunity free of charge.

This innovative complementary qualification programmeArtificial Intelligence & Society” is a 16 ECTS micro-credential (also called micro-degree), demonstrating our commitment to future-oriented education that bridges disciplinary boundaries. Interested students must register before 27 June 2025.

Do you want to understand how artificial intelligence works and spice up your degree programme with a special qualification? This is your chance to gain an additional future-oriented qualification in a highly relevant field, by participating in the courses online as part of a virtual mobility experience at the University of Graz.

This interdisciplinary qualification responds to the transformative potential of AI technologies, equipping students with both theoretical foundations and practical skills. Students will learn to understand, critically evaluate, and responsibly implement AI systems across various domains, gaining essential key competencies for their future professional lives.

Programme structure

The micro-credential’s courses are held during the winter and summer semesters. It will consist of a mix of theory and practice in three modules. This includes learning the basics of a programming language, analysing different AI models and preparing data sets for AI applications. In addition, the courses will cover the basics of various learning algorithms, and the legal and ethical issues that form the framework for the application and development of artificial intelligence.

  • 16 ECTS credits delivered over two semesters – entirely online
  • Module A: Basics (4 ECTS) – Introductory lecture on AI and Society
  • Module B: Application (6 ECTS (2 x 3 ECTS)) – Technical (B.1) and specialised (B.2) courses
  • Module C: Implementation (6 ECTS) – Practical project work applying AI concepts
