Following the success of the first edition, the University of Lyon 1 is launching a second series of seminars on climate change and sustainable development, taking place from September to December 2025. This innovative programme aims to provide students and researchers with the tools to address these global issues using a multidisciplinary approach.

This series of online seminars is designed to offer Master’s and PhD students, researchers and undergraduates a unique educational experience incorporating the latest research advances in the field of climate change and sustainable development.

Led by researchers and academics from seven Arqus member universities (Granada, Graz, Lyon 1, Minho, Padua, Vilnius and Wrocław), each partner will highlight key topics, ranging from the physics of aerosols and greenhouse gases to the “One Health” approach to climate change, as well as historical pollen data and its impact on plant species.

The main objectives of this initiative are to broaden the approach of Master’s programmes by integrating complementary disciplines, to strengthen the links between students and research activities, and to foster collaboration between researchers in this crucial area.

While these seminars are primarily aimed at Master’s students and early-stage researchers, they are open to anyone interested in the subject, including researchers seeking to initiate cooperative projects between Arqus partner universities.

The seminars will take place online on Tuesdays at 17:30 CET from September to mid-December. See the full programme below.
