Understanding AI: The JAI lecture series starts the next round!
|
19 Jan 2026What can AI do? What should I know about it? The answers are here: The Arqus Artificial Intelligence and Digital Transformation (AI&DT) Living Lab is launching the third edition of its lecture series on Artificial Intelligence.
Following the great success of the first two editions of the JAI Lecture Series, the third edition of the format is starting in January 2026. In three webinars, experts from different Arqus universities will share their knowledge about artificial intelligence.
You don’t have to be an expert or a scientist to understand the content of these webinars. Various topics related to artificial intelligence are explained in English, clearly and understandably. All sessions can be experienced online – and some even live!
The first session, How Generative AI impacts work and study, will take place online on 26 January at 16:00 CEST and the second, The mathematics behind generative AI models in imaging, on 11 February at 15:00 CEST.
In the first living lab lecture, Dr Robert Haase (Leipzig University) will explore how Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) impacts research and teaching. We will dive into specialised GenAI-based web applications for scientific [literature] research and for generating teaching materials. We will also look at pitfalls, potential ways to avoid them and good scientific practice.
In the second, Dr Martin Holler (University of Graz) will explore how generative AI models are transforming computational imaging. He will explain the mathematical and probabilistic foundations behind these models, their main working principles, and how they can be tailored to specific imaging problems. The talk will also adress potential pitfalls and illustrate these concepts with real-world examples from Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
