The PRIDE Network Association aims to represent the community of Professionals in Doctoral Education within Europe and beyond. The 7th Annual PRIDE Conference is taking place in London on 9 and 10 April 2025 under the theme “Back to the future. The next two decades of doctoral education”. Dorothy Kelly participates today, 9 April, in the session “The role of European Universities alliances in doctoral education”. She talks about how the European Universities Initiative embodies the collective effort necessary to address complex global challenges, by fostering long-term strategic, structural and sustainable cooperation among European higher education institutions. The 65 European University alliances aim to enhance international competitiveness, promote shared values and a European identity.
Arqus and the rest of the alliances have had tangible impacts on European doctoral education through harmonising procedures, sharing resources, and encouraging mobility. Dorothy Kelly, Arqus Coordinator, discusses the opportunities and challenges that have emerged from inter-university collaboration, as well as good practices and lessons learned that can inspire further innovation in doctoral education across Europe.
