30 Oct 2025Dorothy Kelly, Arqus Coordinator, participated on 21 October in the Training and Cooperation Activity (TCA) “European Universities Alliances as role models. Putting it into practice: Spreading innovative results from European Universities alliances to other higher education institutions” organised by DAAD in Bonn.
The main aim of the conference was to spread good practices and transferable outcomes of the European Universities initiative (EUI) and to discuss them with the wider higher education community. Particular attention was given to the needs of higher education institutions (HEIs) that are not part of an alliance. The conference took up the results of the European Commission Study ‘Report on the outcomes and transformational potential of the European Universities initiative’ and a recently conducted survey “European Universities Alliances as Role Models – Uncovering the Needs and Expectations of (other) Higher Education Institutions to Benefit from the Initiative”.
Dorothy Kelly participated in the workshop “Mobility”, where she presented mobility as an enabler, an instrument, and not an end in itself, and where she talked about the Arqus partners’ strong tradition and long experience in student and staff mobility at both European and global levels. Dorothy also explained the Arqus Open Mobility Agreement that allows students to study in any Arqus university without a previous agreement between faculties. She also presented several activities carried out in arqus that represent innovative mobility and the International Soft Landing for Young Entrepreneurs Initiative, which has facilitated several mobilities among our student entrepreneurs to get to know other start-ups and business models.
Patrycja Matusz, Vice-rector for internationalisation at the University of Wrocław, also participated in this event.
