The Arqus Innovation Fund is proud to support an upcoming live concert, on 17th June at 20:00 CEST, organized in Padua. An evening of traditional Irish music featuring the Concentus Musicus Patavinus’ Ceol ensemble and special guest Jack Talty.
The event will take place in Sala dei Giganti in Padua and promises an immersive experience of traditional rhythms and songs performed on iconic instruments such as the concertina, uilleann pipes (Irish bagpipes), Celtic harp, fiddle, and Irish flute.
The event will feature a special appearance by Jack Talty, a prominent composer, multi-instrumentalist, and award-winning traditional musician from County Clare, Ireland. Talty has performed extensively worldwide and contributed to over 100 albums as a performer, producer, and arranger. Since 2021, he has been lecturing in Irish Traditional Music at University College Cork (UCC), where he also established UCC’s first MA in Irish Traditional Music in 2024.
Performing alongside Talty is the Ceol ensemble of the Concentus Musicus Patavinus. Directed by Sergio Rampino, the group was founded in 2025 within the Irish Traditional Music Workshop of the Master’s Degree in Performing Arts and Multimedia Production. It serves as a hub for the study, practice, and promotion of Irish music, focusing on instrumental pieces (jigs, reels, polkas, hornpipes) as well as its historical and cultural dimensions.
