EDLive – The European Degree Label Live: From Vision to Action

EDLive – The European Degree Label Live: From Vision to Action is a 36-month Erasmus+ project funded under the Partnerships for Excellence: European Universities – European Degree Exploratory Action (ERASMUS-EDU-2025-EUED) call.

The project supports the implementation of the Joint European Degree Label (jEDL) by helping higher education institutions move from pilot initiatives towards a coordinated, system-wide adoption of the European Degree framework. Through EDLive, the Arqus Alliance and its partners will contribute to the development of more integrated, transparent and high-quality joint programmes, strengthening the European Higher Education Area and enhancing the international recognition of joint degrees.

Objectives

EDLive aims to support the large-scale implementation of the Joint European Degree Label by:

Why EDLive?

Although joint programmes have become an increasingly important feature of European higher education, they are still often affected by fragmented national regulations, different quality assurance systems and administrative barriers. As a result, many institutions continue to award multiple national degrees instead of a single joint qualification, limiting the visibility and recognition of integrated European programmes.

EDLive addresses these challenges by supporting the implementation of the Joint European Degree Label, creating practical solutions that help universities deliver joint programmes that are more coherent, transparent and easier to recognise across Europe.

Arqus’ contribution

Building on its extensive experience in developing joint programmes and transnational cooperation, the Arqus Alliance plays an active role in advancing one of the European Commission’s flagship initiatives for higher education. Through EDLive, Arqus contributes its expertise in collaborative education, quality assurance and innovative learning pathways while helping shape the future implementation of the Joint European Degree Label.

The project will also strengthen cooperation among the Alliance’s member universities, supporting the development of new joint educational opportunities and reinforcing Arqus’ commitment to educational excellence, inclusion and innovation.
