Researchers from across disciplines are invited to join the Complexity of Life Conference 2026, an Arqus co-funded event taking place at the University of Graz from 7 to 10 September 2026. Participation is free of charge, and registration is open until 24 August.

The Complexity of Life Conference 2026, co-funded by Arqus, will be held at the University of Graz (Austria) from 7 to 10 September 2026 under the theme “Transitions: From Fundamental Principles to Global Challenges.”

The conference will bring together researchers from a wide range of disciplines to explore one of the most significant challenges in contemporary science: understanding how complex living systems function across different structural and dynamical levels. By fostering interdisciplinary dialogue, the event aims to advance new perspectives on the processes that shape life, from fundamental principles to major global challenges.

The scientific programme will feature keynote lectures, contributed talks and poster sessions, providing opportunities for participants to exchange ideas, establish collaborations and discuss the latest developments in complexity science and its applications. Topics include critical transitions, self-organisation, resilience, ecological regime shifts, social transformations, sustainability, health, innovation and computational approaches to complex systems.

Participation in the conference is free of charge, but registration is mandatory. The deadline to register is 24 August 2026.

Those interested can find more information about the programme, keynote speakers and registration on the conference website:
