As part of Maynooth University’s Research Week, taking place from 19 to 23 October, the university will showcase a wide range of activities highlighting its vibrant research community and the opportunities available to researchers. Among them, the “Drop In Clinic – Grow MU research capacity through Arqus” will offer Maynooth researchers a dedicated space to discover how Arqus can help them develop new research collaborations across Europe.

Taking place on Monday 19 October from 09:00 to 11:00 CEST in the TSI Building, without the need to register in advance, the drop-in clinic will bring together members of the Maynooth University (MU) Arqus team with researchers interested in exploring the opportunities offered by the Alliance.

The initiative aims to strengthen pathways for Maynooth University academics to connect with colleagues across Arqus universities and to turn research ideas into new international collaborations. Researchers can drop in to discuss emerging ideas, identify potential partners and explore opportunities for developing joint research proposals and funding applications.

Connecting researchers across the Alliance

Arqus provides an extended European network through which researchers can identify complementary expertise, build new connections and develop collaborative projects. The MU Arqus team can support researchers in identifying relevant expertise across partner universities, making connections with potential collaborators and developing, communicating and disseminating research proposals.

The clinic therefore represents a practical opportunity to explore the Alliance not only as an institutional partnership, but as a network for bottom-up research collaboration and internationalisation.

Research is one of the main pillars of Arqus, and the Alliance works to strengthen its research and innovation dimension by fostering joint research, networking and collaboration among its member universities. This includes creating opportunities for researchers to connect across disciplines and institutions and supporting the development of new collaborative initiatives.

Research Week: a space to connect and collaborate

The Arqus drop-in clinic is part of a wider programme of activities during Maynooth University Research Week, which brings together researchers, doctoral students and members of the wider university community around a diverse programme of events, showcases, exhibitions and opportunities for exchange.

For Maynooth researchers, the week provides an opportunity to discover new ways of sharing expertise, developing ideas and connecting with colleagues beyond the university. Through initiatives such as the Arqus drop-in clinic, the Alliance continues to create the conditions for researchers to build lasting connections and unlock the potential of working together across Europe.
