“Linguistics, Educational and Intercultural Research 2021” conference
Leipzig University and Vilnius University organises the 8th international scientific conference “Linguistic, Educational and Intercultural Research 2021” (LEIC Research 2021).
The LEIC Research 2021 aims to bring together researchers, university lecturers and teachers, as well as representatives of educational institutions. We welcome participants from many countries, to provide them with an opportunity to collaborate and extend cooperation among scholars, practitioners and educators from within the Arqus European University Alliance and other universities as well. all participations in the Conference will take place online.
CALL FOR PAPERS
The themes that will be discussed during the conference are the following:
Linguistic Research: Cognitive Linguistics, Sociolinguistics, Pragmatics, Corpus Linguistics, Lexicology, Meta-lexicography, Discourse studies/ Language in the Media, Public and other Types of Discourse
Language Teaching and Learning: Language Acquisition, Language Testing and Assessment, Language Teacher Education, Language Teaching Methodology
Innovation in Language Teaching and Learning: Online Language Teaching and Testing, Language Curriculum Development and Syllabus Design
Language Policy: Multilingualism, Languages and Rights, Minority and Regional Languages
Intercultural Education and Research
Literary Research
The online conference will enable participants:
o to exchange and share their research results, o to compare experiences and best practice on all aspects of the conference themes, o to provide renewed inspiration for their future research and teaching, o to discuss language policies at universities, o to discuss language teaching in the post-pandemic space, o to present the most successful ways for language teachers to address the needs of the new generation of students, o to promote democratic citizenship, social inclusion, and intercultural dialogue in our increasingly multicultural and multilingual classrooms.
Conference formats
o Plenary presentations (45 minutes) o Presentations (20 minutes + 10 minutes for discussion) o Panel sessions o Interactive language cafés (separate rooms for each language) — rooms with moderators, invited guests, and participants to discuss issues related to multilingualism and language teaching, and to socialize in virtual multi-lingual space. o Workshops (45 minutes)
Presentations and workshops will be held in English. However, to promote multilingualism, panel sessions and interactive language cafés may be delivered in languages other than English, depending on the languages of the delegates. We particularly encourage our colleagues from the Arqus European University Alliance to participate in their local languages.
Proposals for panel sessions (moderator and 3-4 panel experts) and the interactive language café are welcome from speakers of the following languages:

IMPORTANT DATES
o Submission of abstracts (~ 250 words): by 30th June 2021. o Notification of accepted abstracts: by 10th July 2021. o Submission of articles: by 1st September 2021.
Participation at the conference for the participants of the Arqus European University Alliance is free of charge.
