Join the first session of the AI literacy talks: International workshops on artificial intelligence literacy, an international initiative that invites participants to rethink the role of artificial intelligence in higher education.
This project was conceived in 2025 by doctoral students in Distance Education and eLearning (EDeL – UAb/UMinho), Edna Lampert Klein and Ana Luiza Gonçalves Freire, with the aim of promoting reflection, dialogue, and the development of critical and meaningful practices in the use of AI in educational contexts.
Developed in collaboration between the University of Minho and the University of Leipzig, and supported by Arqus, this initiative creates an international space for exchange where scientific knowledge, practical experiences, and educational innovation converge.
The AI literacy talks offer an immersion into the possibilities of generative artificial intelligence, exploring ways to integrate it responsibly, creatively, and meaningfully into teaching and learning processes.
In a context increasingly shaped by intelligent technologies, key questions arise:
The workshops aim to foster a dynamic environment for collaboration, where AI is understood not only as a tool, but as a central element in transforming educational practices.
Each session is designed to ensure a dynamic and engaging learning experience:
Lúcia Santaella
Full Professor at the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo, internationally recognized for her work in semiotics and technologies of intelligence.
Special participation will also be provided by PhD candidates Eliana Lopes, Silvia Galvão Dias, and Teresa Oliveira Ramos (UAb/UMinho).
The workshop is aimed at teachers, students, researchers, and education professionals interested in exploring new possibilities for AI-mediated teaching and learning.
AI Literacy Talks aim to create an inspiring, dynamic, and enriching space to broaden perspectives and collaboratively transform educational practices.
