15th April2024

Type: Arqus Living Labs, Climate Change

Open to: Academics & researchers, Early Post-docs, PhD Students, Students

The Arqus Climate Change and Sustainable Development (CChSD) cluster invites researchers and students to participate in the webinar “Climate change impacts: adaptation in viticulture as a case study”, which will take place next Monday, 15th April 2024, at 15:00 CEST.

Climate change is becoming a real challenge to plants worldwide, threatening not only biomes and ecosystems but also agriculture’s environmental and socioeconomic sustainability, endangering global food security. Therefore, research on crop adaptation to climate change is critical. Climate and crop models may represent key decision-support tools for farmers, thus contributing to reducing losses and risks from changing climates and extreme weather events while promoting the long-term sustainability of agrarian value chains.

The session, led by Professor João Carlos Andrade Santos from the Universidade de Trás-Os-Mntes e Alto Douro (UTAD) is part of the Blended Intensive Programme on “Plant adaptations to climate changes” that is being organised by the Universities of Granada, Minho, Wroclaw and the Université Catholique de Louvain.
