Founded in 1702, the University of Wrocław is among 10 best Polish universities. It is the only university in south-western Poland that has been qualified for the programme: Initiative of Excellence – Research University.
The University of Wrocław focuses on mobility – we want our students and graduates to be open to the world. We want their studies to be a scientific adventure and make students feel like “citizens of the world”. Founded in 1702, the university is already an international university – we have the highest percentage of foreigners to native students in Poland. In addition, we offer to study for a semester or two under the Erasmus+ programme at one of 48 European universities or under the MOST programme to study at another university in Poland.
According to surveys, alumni of the University of Wrocław find a job at the latest three months after graduation. However, flexible curricula make it possible to start a professional career while still studying. 45% of students combine their studies with a job. In comparison, another 32% work part-time – such opportunities are created by the Wrocław agglomeration and the companies located here that are looking for employees already during their studies.
The University of Wrocław owns some dormitories – including the famous Wrocław student halls of residence Kredka (Crayon) and Ołówek (Pencil). It has its own sports facilities – at the disposal of students and student sports sections. There are over 100 buildings located throughout the city. Moreover, there are also the regional facilities – take a look at our Centre for Astronomical Education in Białków, the Ecological Station in Karpacz or the Ornithological Station in Milicz. Those who are keen on travelling can visit our polar station in Spitsbergen.
Finally, the University of Wrocław means satisfied alumni – as many as 87% declare that the studies they graduated from were a good choice and would not change this decision, 92% recommend studying at the UWr as a good idea for starting a professional career.
