08 May 2025

The University of Minho invites Arqus students, researchers and staff to the second edition of the Meeting on Cellular Membrane Dynamics CellMeD2 from 23-29 May at the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory (INL) and the University of Minho, Braga (Portugal).

The CellMeD2 meeting will explore the dynamic processes, structures, mechanisms, and functions associated with cellular membrane behaviour across diverse organisms, from mammals to fungi. Key topics will include organelle dynamics, membrane trafficking, membrane contact sites, lipid homeostasis, and advanced imaging technologies such as super-resolution microscopy and cryo-electron microscopy.

The relevance of these topics in fields such as medical mycology, oncobiology, medical physics, and neurosciences will be highlighted.

Programme

Day 1: 23 May

  • Opening Session
  • Molecular regulation of phagosomal dynamics during fungal infection
  • Candida albicans morphogenesis at different temporal and spatial scales
  • Cryo-electron microscopy techniques in Life Sciences

Day 2: 26 May

  • Lessons from the trafficking of fungal transporters: Discovery of novel unconventional sorting routes
