Arqus and Ulysseus work together in the promotion of a more inclusive university
|
27 Sep 2021On 28th September, the Universities of Padua and Genoa, as respective members of the Arqus and Ulysseus European University Alliances, organize an online meeting to look for common and transversal areas of action in the promotion of a more equitable, diverse and inclusive university.
The University of Padua coordinates the Arqus Action Line 2 “Expanding access, inclusion and diversity”, which includes the activity “Common charters on gender equality, inclusion and sustainable development goals”. The University of Genoa leads the Ulysseus work package “Social Responsibility and Citizen Commitment”, focusing on gender equality, diversity and inclusion through cross-fertilization actions inside and outside the Alliance.
Equal opportunities, inclusion and respect for diversity are the founding values of the EU that European Universities are called upon to implement, both internally and in their role of promotion of excellence and innovation in research. In this context, the Universities of Padua and Genoa are identifying common areas of interest across the EDI initiatives promoted by Ulysseus and Arqus, in order to share transversal actions aimed at making universities more equitable, diverse and inclusive.
These European Universities seek to promote common European values and a strengthened European identity. They have a long-term strategy, co-designed and oriented towards sustainability and excellence. The Alliances will become the universities of the future, promoting European values and identity, and advancing the quality and competitiveness of higher education in Europe.
